Complete production line for the food industry

For a renowned client in the field of liquid medical nutrition, Brabant Engineering designed, built and installed a complete production line. The filled products must be sterilized within four hours of production to ensure shelf life.

The solution

The line consists of several independently operating modules in a closed-loop system. Products are continuously loaded into stainless steel trays in a loader module, after which the filled trays are placed into stainless steel baskets.

Through a transport system, the baskets are moved into an autoclave, where they are sterilized in batches of five using hot water. After sterilization, the baskets are transported to an unloader module, where the trays are removed from the baskets and the products are taken out of the trays.

A buffer system is placed between the loader and unloader modules to temporarily store trays and baskets, allowing both modules to continue working independently in the event of a process interruption.

In a continuous in-line transport system, the products are dried (removing 99.9% of residual moisture), labelled and packed into boxes. After weighing and final labelling, the filled boxes are transferred via conveyor to an automated palletizer.
